Just in case DAS hides another of my comments (for some reason they hid the last that I submitted to you, even though I thought I was kind of defending them, haha):
*kuri-osity 42 seconds ago Hobbyist General Artist That's not a bad idea - having a forum thread dedicated to the same. Might be worth suggesting it on DAS' profile page.
When DAS secrets first started appearing on the front page, I suggested to DAS that they contact dA admin and ask them to somehow filter DAS submissions so that they wouldn't appear on the frong page (if possible). No idea if anyone read my comment, though. Again - because these submissions aren't making it to the front page because of popularity or quality, it's (most likely) a matter of category alone. I see people intentionally submit stuff to obscure categories all the time to make it to the front page.
For what it's worth, though, you're not alone in your feelings, even if not for the same reasoning. A lot of DAS submitters won't submit as freely as they used to, because they fear the whiplash that comes from the general art community when their work gets public attention. By a long shot, this isn't the only group on dA who caters to various functions and goals that are non-art related, but because of the category chosen it winds up standing out more often than not.
If I were a DAS moderator, I would submit these to the "Digital Arts" or "Traditional" categories. With the weight of other submissions coming in, odds are these wouldn't wind up front page fodder and non-DAS followers wouldn't be the wiser to their existance.
Anyway, hope you don't see this as spam.
I just don't mind chatting with people who aren't all angst and GRRs at the fight sight of a differing opinion (which we don't necessarily have, but it doesn't take much to irk some).
